@kfarley: I think my last posting was deleted by 'st.Victor'. So I shall say what I said in another way:
1. That when one has a discussion on these very sensitive matters, justice and biblical charity demands that ones arguments be both academically water-tight and delivered in a balanced, non-confrontational way. This means that one ought to offer good Biblical Scholarship, e.g. citations and informed exegesis of those parts of Scripture which deal with the matter at hand, viz. homosexuality. This is more convincing than just saying to people: YOU ARE WRONG!
2. That the church's position on the matter be better represented by both the written word, viz. the Catechism of the Catholic Church and moral doctrine from the Papal encyclicals, etc. AND balanced discussion on the matter. This would auger better for the Church's case here.
