Americans have started deploying Guinea hens, notorious for their tick-hunting abilities, to their backyards. This comes right after news that hundreds of millions of genetically modified ticks that allegedly cause lifelong illness were released into the wilderness.
My son and his family have a small cattle ranch in an area where ticks have been spreading Alpha Gal for years. They have a whole gaggle of these funny birds. Not only do guineas eat thousands of ticks, they are experts at taking out any copperhead snakes that come into the barnyard, too.
