Mary Mackillop's Spirit lives on.

A key point of prayer at this World Youth Day is Mary Mackillop place over in North Sydney which has just launched a new exhibition for the occasion. Pilgrims visiting Mary Mackillop place will discover how Mary Mackillop's spirit continues to live on.

"It's been a wonderful evening, we've launched a special exhibition, "In the footsteps of Mary Mackillop", Australia's saint. And it's really like our official beginning of World Youth Day event here, and there's many more exciting things to happen during this week. We're expecting our first pilgrims, we're hoping they'll be lots and lots of people coming through the Oval into the chapel, and just enjoying this wonderful person. The basic experience I think we'd call the pilgrimage experience, young people will gather on Shore College Oval which is over next door, and they'll walk around into Mount Street and into the chapel. When they enter the chapel, we have four banners depicting the four things that we saw were important about World Youth Day. We picked Mary the person, this woman of great love, Mary the witness, Mary of the Cross, and Mary the pilgrim."

"I see Mary Mackillop as a big-hearted woman, full of love, and full of compassion, who had a passion in her life to make a difference."
