I will put this into my own personal perspective...
My employed role has historically meant I went on-site, face-to-face, with the customer and factory 50% or more of my time, in many countries.
During the greatest fear mongering, I was striving to ensure I was doing my job and serving the company and customers as is appropriate. So, I did what was needed where I was allowed to do it. This meant that I was about 10% effective over 2019.
I was given an award (yep just like those nurses and such)... for doing as I did. When I was called asking to prepare for the award 'speech', I told them to enjoy the award, fill in the speech as they like since the facts I would offer would only diminish the award, my performance, and (likely) belittle others.
I told them that any speech would involve 3 things:
- Survival rate shows I was not at any great risk
- I was only able to meet 10% of my previous performance
- My desire to meet my performance of last year was hindered based on SOCIAL risk
