There is a legitimacy to this man's point. Yes, every instance of extra-marital "relations" is always a mortal sin, but some people just aren't going to respond appropriately to the "You're going to Hell" admonition. There is value in working with people to see what is good in their life and building upon that, in the hope that they will make their lives right before God, rather than just going in with a wrecking ball. There might even be a word for that...maybe..."compassion"?
