Katholisch.de, the German bishops’ news portal, yesterday promoted the favorable views on polygamy of Father Égide Muziazia from Münster. Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Muziazia has lived in Germany since 2006 and was ordained in 2011. “Polygamy in Africa is neither merely a moral failing nor a sign of moral backwardness. Rather, it is a social institution embedded in a comprehensive network of kinship, alliance-building, and the transmission of life,” he said.
